Volunteering to serve on one of our committees is one of the most rewarding reasons for joining our organization. Be part of a group of dedicated volunteers and members that continue to work to educate, learn, and serve our community.

Meet new friends, and participate in the exciting history of the Somerset Hills area.

Historic Preservation

Created in 2003, the purpose of the Historic Preservation Committee is to share information with area residents about the value and importance of our historic resources, and to offer guidance to historic property owners who are planning renovation or restoration projects. Since it's inception, the committee has been asked for input on numerous local projects involving historic building, and it has been rewarding to work with long time homeowners and new home buyers as they make their plans. In response to the many questions that have arisen, the committee has developed a set of voluntary historic preservation guidelines that you may find helpful.

Membership

Membership in THSSH and your continued support is the lifeblood financial sourcing to manage the day to day operations of The Society as well as to support the efforts to restore the 3rd Floor of the historic Brick Academy.

All our members receive newsletters, a 2007 yearbook, and postcards of our sponsored events.

Lorraine Passmore, THSSH Membership Chairperson, reminds all that "Your dues are tax deductible!" Trustees would very much appreciate it if our Life Members would consider making a donation to The Society at this time as well.
