Somerset Hills Airport - 1932 - Governor A. Harry Moore (left), with straw hat, arrived at the Somerset Hills Airport to visit the US Veterans Hospital at Lyons in Bernards Township. Now don't get confused with where the Somerset County Airport actually was. The Somerset County Airport was in Basking Ridge, just off South Maple Avenue and Lord Stirling Road. Greeting him in the white shirt is manager and head instructor Wally Shantz. To the right are members of the New Jersey State Police. Photo courtesy of J. Donald McArthur.
